ATLANTA, August 7, 2014 - The Atlanta Braves organization announced today that it has created a fan advisory board for its new ballpark, slated to open in 2017. The Atlanta Braves Fan Advisory Board will provide fans and local representatives the opportunity to offer thoughts and insights on the ballpark and development design, plans, processes and entertainment activities.
"From day one, our focus has been on giving our fans the best possible sports and entertainment experience," said Atlanta Braves Executive Vice President Derek Schiller. "Through cooperation, teamwork and mutual understanding, the Atlanta Braves Fan Advisory Board will help guide us on that mission."
The 20-member board will be advised and led by Ken Bernhardt, the well-known Regents Professor of Marketing Emeritus from Georgia State University.
The Braves organization, with input from Dr. Bernhardt, have selected members from a mix of season tickets holders, representatives from Braves corporate partners and community leaders from both Atlanta and Cobb County. In addition there are representatives from each Cobb County district.
The committee plans to meet approximately three to five times a year, with its first meeting scheduled for late summer.
