Outfielder Todd Cunningham, the Braves' No. 18 prospect, collected four hits Wednesday to match his career high, but it wasn't enough to lead Triple-A Gwinnett to victory. Charlotte defeated the Braves, 12-10.
Cunningham went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, a run and three RBIs. He has recorded a hit in each of the last 14 games he has started.
Cunningham homered in his first, doubled in the third and singled in the fifth, giving him two chances to complete what would have been the first cycle of his career. But he grounded out in the seventh and had to settle for another double the next inning in his final plate appearance of the night.
After making his Major League debut last season, Cunningham returned to Gwinnett this season. He is hitting .285/.333/.408 with six home runs and 13 stolen bases in 97 games.
