PHILADELPHIA -- Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez anticipates that reliever David Carpenter, who is on a rehab assignment, will be able to return when he's eligible Wednesday.
Carpenter has been on the 15-day disabled list since June 17 with a strained right biceps. He threw one inning at Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday night.
"Velocity was good, arm strength was good. Threw a couple of good breaking balls," Gonzalez said of Carpenter's outing.
"When we DL'ed him, we knew that it wasn't anything major. It was right on the bicep. Some weakness there."
Carpenter is 4-1 with a 4.23 ERA and 35/8 strikeout-to-walk ratio in his fourth season.
