Fredi wins challenge on tight play at first in 11th

PHOENIX -- Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez challenged a call at first base in the bottom of the 11th inning of Atlanta's 4-3 loss on Saturday night at Chase Field after D-backs left-fielder Ender Inciarte was ruled safe on a slow roller to second base.

The safe call made by first base umpire Andy Fletcher was overturned by a video replay review in 1 minute, 21 seconds.

Braves second baseman Dan Uggla made the inning-opening play, scooping the bunt on one hop to first baseman Freddie Freeman. Fletcher ruled that Inciarte had barely beaten the throw.

There was no question Gonzalez was going to challenge it.

"I had nothing to lose," he said. "That's what I told Andy. I said, 'Andy, let's not mess around looking for the sign in the dugout. It's past the seventh inning. I've got a challenge. Let's just go get it done.' [Uggla] made a great play there."
