Braves announce Minor League coaching staffs

The Braves have announced their full Minor League coaching staffs for 2014, which includes the return of five managers and the addition of a few members to the staff.

Rich Dubee will join the organization as Minor League pitching coordinator, while Ronnie Ortegon will come on as Minor League hitting coordinator and Bobby Mitchell as Minor League roving outfield/baserunning instructor. Former Braves third-base coach Brian Snitker will manage Triple-A Gwinnett, which was also previously announced.

Snitker had served as the Braves' third-base coach for the last seven seasons, and he last managed in the Minors in 2006 with Triple-A Richmond. He will be aided by pitching coach Marty Reed (fourth season) and hitting coach Garey Ingram, who enters his first season with Gwinnett after serving as Double-A Mississippi's hitting coach the last four years.

Aaron Holbert will lead Mississippi for the third straight year alongside pitching coach Dennis Lewallyn and hitting coach Jamie Dismuke, who joins Mississippi after spending the last five seasons with Gwinnett.

Luis Salazar will manage Class A Lynchburg for the fourth season and welcome pitching coach Derrick Lewis, in his 11th season with the Braves' organization.

Class A Rome will have a new manager in Jonathan Schuerholz, who is the son of Braves team president John Schuerholz. Gabe Luckert will also join as pitching coach. Schuerholz will be in his fourth season as a Minor League manager after spending the last two at the helm of Rookie-level Danville, while Luckert spent the last four years on the Danville staff.

Danville will have a new manager in Randy Ingle, a new pitching coach in Dan Meyer and a new hitting coach in Carlos Mendez. Ralph Wheeler returns to manage the Gulf Coast League Braves.

Derek Botelho will take on a new role as the Minor League pitching rehabilitation instructor.
