ATLANTA -- A little less than three months from now, Braves pitchers and catchers will report to Spring Training to prepare for an exhibition season that will include a pair of games against the World Series champion Red Sox.
Matchups against three of this year's League Championship Series participants -- the Red Sox, Cardinals and Tigers -- highlight Atlanta's 2014 Grapefruit League schedule, which was released on Monday.
The Braves will welcome the Tigers to Champion Stadium on Feb. 26 to begin the Grapefruit League season. These two teams will also meet again in Lakeland, Fla., on March 27 in what will be the last exhibition game Atlanta will play in Florida.
After coming north, the Braves will conclude the exhibition season with a game against some of their top Minor League players on March 29 at Class A Rome's State Mutual Stadium. Atlanta will open the regular season in Milwaukee on March 31.
The Braves will travel to Fort Myers to play the Red Sox on March 7 and then host the reigning World Series champions on March 22. This will mark the first time these two teams have played each other during the exhibition season since 2011.
Atlanta's 17-game home schedule includes games against the Cardinals (March 15), Yankees (March 19) and the division-rival Nationals on March 4, 6 and 12.
Three night games, each of which will begin at 6:05 p.m. ET, are scheduled at Champion Stadium. They include a pair of matchups against the Astros (Feb. 28 and March 24) and the March 6 game against the Nationals.
Atlanta's pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Spring Training on Feb. 13 in preparation for their first workout the following day. The remainder of the club will be scheduled to report on Feb. 18. The first full-squad workout will be held on Feb. 19.
