Braves and Orioles Announce One-Player Trade

ATLANTA - The Atlanta Braves and Baltimore Orioles announced today that the two clubs have completed a one-player trade. The Braves have acquired RHP Freddy Garcia from the Orioles in exchange for cash considerations. Financial terms of the deal were not announced.

Garcia, 36, will be assigned to Triple-A Gwinnett. Garcia went 3-5 with a 5.77 ERA in 11 appearances (10 starts) for the Baltimore Orioles this season, before being out righted to their Triple-A Club, the Norfolk Tides, in late June. He made 13 starts for Norfolk, compiling an 8-3 record with a 2.84 ERA while striking out 61 batters in 82.1 innings.

Garcia was originally signed by the Houston Astros as a non-drafted free agent and has made 370 Major League appearances, including 354 starts over 15 Major League seasons, while playing on seven different clubs.
