MILWAUKEE -- After pitching in just a handful of games, left-hander and No. 5 Braves prospect Alex Wood has the confidence of manager Fredi Gonzalez.
Wood pitched a scoreless eighth inning Friday night, and he would have pitched the ninth had the Braves tied it in the ninth without batting through the pitcher's spot in the batting order, Gonzalez said.
"I feel comfortable using him," Gonzalez said.
In eight games, Wood is 0-1 with a 3.09 ERA.
