MILWAUKEE -- Paul Janish, who was recalled from the Minors on Friday, made it to Miller Park in time for the team's series-opening game, but his equipment didn't arrive until Saturday.
Janish didn't play, but he was prepared to use a bat from Brandon Beachy and Tim Hudson's glove if he was called into action.
The utility infielder, recalled when Ramiro Pena was placed on the disabled list, was batting .207 with five doubles and 12 RBIs for Triple-A Gwinnett. He said he was glad his equipment finally caught up with him.
"It gives you a level of comfort, you know?" Janish said. "We're freakishly creatures of habit."
