This was the first time Beachy faced another team since undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow last year. He completed two innings in an extended spring training game last week and was forced to complete three innings in an indoor simulated setting when Gwinett's game was rained out last Sunday.
"His command was a little spotty, but that was the first time he's faced outside competition," Gonzalez said. "He was fine. He's progressing well and we'll just keep him going."
Beachy is aiming to rejoin Atlanta's rotation at some point during the middle of June. He will make his next rehab start on Wednesday.
