ATLANTA -- With a steady rain falling and radar showing no letup in sight, Saturday's game between the Mets and Braves at Turner Field was postponed.
No makeup date has been announced.
The teams conclude their series on Sunday afternoon, with first pitch at 1:35 p.m. ET, weather permitting.
The series finale will look a little different due to the rainout, as the highly anticipated matchup of Braves ace Tim Hudson and Mets phenom Matt Harvey will no longer happen.
Hudson will start for Atlanta, as the Braves will skip Saturday starter Julio Teheran and keep the rotation on regular rest for their next series in Cincinnati. Lefty Paul Maholm will start on Monday vs. the Reds. The Mets have chosen to stay with Saturday starter Jon Niese, moving Harvey's next start back to Tuesday, when the Mets host the Chicago White Sox at Citi Field.
Fans holding tickets for Saturday's game can use their tickets for the makeup game or exchange their paid tickets for another game on the 2013 regular-season schedule (subject to availability). Ticket exchanges must be made prior to the makeup date. See braves.com/rainout for details.
The rainout is the 17th postponed game in Turner Field history -- and the fifth with the Mets as the scheduled opponent, the most of any team.
