CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The Phillies offense showed life in Thursday's 10-5 victory over the Braves at Bright House Field, as left-hander Paul Maholm struggled.

Maholm, making his second spring start, allowed six hits, five runs, two walks and struck out two in 2 2/3 innings.

Tyler Pastornicky was the bright spot on offense, going 2-for-5 with four RBIs, including a three-run homer in the seventh. Chris Johnson also homered for the Braves.

The Phillies took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Ben Revere walked and Chase Utley singled to put runners at the corners. Ryan Howard doubled down the right-field line to score Revere. Michael Young reached on an error, which scored Utley. And Domonic Brown's single to right scored Howard.

The Braves scored their first run in the third with help from a two-base error by left fielder Darin Ruf. Pastornicky singled to left to score Ramiro Pena.

Phillies left-hander Cole Hamels allowed four hits, the one unearned run and struck out five in three innings.

Up Next: Julio Teheran will make his second start of the exhibition season when the Braves host the Nationals on Friday at 6:05 p.m. ET. Teheran, who is bidding for the fifth spot in the rotation, tossed two scoreless innings against the Pirates in his Grapefruit League debut. This will be Atlanta's first opportunity to play under the lights. Juan Francisco, who has shown some promise at the plate this past week, is expected to start at third base.
