ATLANTA -- Braves rookie outfielder Jason Heyward exited Thursday night's game against the Cardinals with an apparent injury.
Heyward sprinted down the first-base line on an unsuccessful attempt to beat out a grounder that ended the fifth inning. When the sixth began, he didn't take his position in right field.
Since struggling during the early weeks of August, Heyward has started to show the promise that was displayed during the first two months of the season. The 21-year-old rookie All-Star has hit .441 with four homers and 13 RBIs in his past 19 games.
